Disinfectants, tanning agents, wood preservatives, drugs, and polymer synthetic materials, etc. Suitable for sealed and dark storage at low temperatures (below 0 ℃). This product has strong irritation to the eyes and skin. When using it, protective equipment such as glasses and gloves should be worn. Cannot be mixed with phenolic vegetable tanning agents and synthetic tanning agents.
Glutaraldehyde is used for disinfection, pharmaceuticals, tanning, and as a hardening agent for electron microscopes and color picture tubes. This product is used to produce the central nervous system stimulant, scopolamine hydrochloride. Glutaraldehyde is a fast acting and broad-spectrum chemical sterilizer that can exhibit activity against many microorganisms at low concentrations of glutaraldehyde aqueous solution at room temperature. It has a high sterilization effect on reproductive bacteria, viruses, mycobacteria, pathogenic fungi, and bacterial spores, and has low toxicity to humans. Some people say that formaldehyde was used in the early 21st century, while chemical disinfectants such as ethylene oxide were used in the 2000s. Currently, glutaraldehyde is the third milestone.
In 1973, the World Health Organization (WHO) recommended three products as disinfectants for hepatitis B virus. Among known aldehydes, glutaraldehyde is the best protein crosslinking agent, characterized by high activity, fast reaction, high binding capacity, stable products, and strong resistance to boiling water, acid, and enzymes. Therefore, leather tanned with glutaraldehyde has excellent properties such as sweat resistance, heat resistance, and soap washing resistance.
